I was about to create this topic until I found yours. Yes, I agree an account option for “balance only” would be great.
My main txn sheet has 10k+ rows, about 15% being investment transactions I don’t care about. They clutter the view and slow down various formulas. I’m considering copy/pasting into an “archive” sheet and then deleting them all (manually, every few months I suppose).
