and when i do signin i get a message that it is valid for 30 days only
I don’t recall seeing that message when I had to reauthorize Amex (I think it said every six months, but I could be wrong). You mention above that you don’t use 2FA. I wonder if they put that thirty day limit in place to urge people to use 2FA.
Chase is only giving me 30 days. American Express, Citi and Bank of America all gave me 90 days. I don’t have 2FA turned on for the accounts. Probably a good idea in the long run to help me remember who I have granted access to the accounts.
I googled around on this. I think this reauthorization process is part of a package of steps related to the implementation of Open Banking standards. These banks are allowing us to access our data more freely, but they are also ensuring that we know with whom our data is being shared. Somebody will correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe all of the banks that have been identified in this thread as requiring this reauthorization are banks that have moved to Open Banking.
It sounds like people are receiving different messages and time periods. I thought I would share the screenshot of the message I received. Note it is for Chase (my Amazon Prime credit card) and for 90 days. 2FA is enabled.
Same for me from Chase. 90 days. 2FA enabled.
