Hi everyone I am searching for the best way to deal with amazon retail fees that are tacked on by the state im living in. Its a .31 cents fee and so far I’ve just divided it up between my transactions. Does anyone have a better more efficient way to categorize this? Thanks for reading.
I don’t have those fees, but in general when I get fees for transactions, I just have a category called fees where I direct those costs to. Fees can be part of a purchase price or separated out, so I think it depends on your specific use case and needs.
Ok thank you that makes sense.
Agree with casilverthorn.96; it depends on how you’re also using your sheet; ie are you using it as a general ledger in that case fee or taxes is a good category.
if you’re also trying to see where funds have been spent, allocating a category for that would seem appropriate, and seems like it’s the Colorado Retail Delivery Fee, of which it’s a specific type of delivery and would also apply to gopuff, instacart etc as well,
I would go more specific and have a distinct category, ie shipping fee, etc. I would track it appart from the cost of goods purchased.
