Introducing the New Tiller Debt Payoff Planner Spreadsheet

Hi @beardy I think I need more of a breakdown. For e.g. you owe a family member 5k - are you saying if you have a manual account e.g. Debt to Joe , with balance 5k, this double counts some balance data coming through in automated data feeds? In a remote way I can see my view is simplistic but I don’t get exactly how :see_no_evil_monkey: sorry! - I know this is not actually getting at a solution for you.

@Beardy there isn’t a way to have it track against a category rather than an account. I’d recommend adding a feature request for this.

@twalane - I think what they mean here by duplicates is more about the effort. It’s double effort to have to track it against a manual account because the payment comes out of checking account X for example and that shows up automatically maybe, but in order to get the balance for the manual account to update (and reflect in the debt payoff sheet) they have to input a manual transaction and have it update the manual account’s balance.

We did try to make this a little easier with the “add transaction” tool in the sidebar since it has the option to update the manual account’s balance, but that is still one extra step to go into the sidebar to add the transaction.
