Hi @razzing thanks for sharing more context there. The Foundation Template doesn’t offer any rollover features out of the box, but the Savings Budget, which is Community-built and community-supported might be a better fit if you want remaining category amounts to roll from one month to the next.
I also help my brother with his money and we pay less attention to the budget sheet, which is more focused on transactions and more attention on the Balances sheet because it reflects money that’s actually there and makes sure that it’s always reflecting that his credit card will be paid in full each cycle. It’s not perfect, but it gives us both peace of mind that he’ll be able to cover his expenses (and therefore not ask me for money…). The expected income and expected payment amounts for bills, etc get edited each week as that number decreases. It’s a bit manual but I haven’t found anything anyone else has built that answers this question
