I’ve noticed over the last several months, probably coinciding with recent efforts to prevent duplication, that Tiller is now omitting transactions that appear to be duplicates but are not. For example:
- I’m going on a trip with friends this fall. I paid for the cabin, and the friends are all sending me the same amount of money to cover their portion. But only one of these are showing up per day, I believe, because Tiller thinks they are duplicates. If they come on separate days they’re fine.
- Also, I have a recurring transfer every month to transfer money to my and my wife’s separate IRAs. Same amount in both. I had to split the transfers into separate days because Tiller was consistently omitting one of them.
I think I would rather have duplicate transactions than missing transactions. At least with duplicates I can see the problem. It’s much harder to catch missing transactions!
