Monthly analysis issue - Subtotals

Hello,

A few of the Subtotals for Income and Expense are not summing properly. Under the Subtotal “Business” (Under the Income Category) I have 3 Separate businesses, each with their income listed correctly. The Sum of these values does not equal the “Business” Total for this Subtotal. Here is an example:

INCOME Jan 2025
Business $15,000
abc biz income $2,000
def biz income $3,000
ghi biz income $4,000

I have noticed that the “Business” Subtotal is equal to the sum of the both the income and expenses associated with each of these businesses. Example

INCOME Jan 2025
Business $15,000
abc biz income $2,000
def biz income $3,000
ghi biz income $4,000

EXPENSES Jan 2025
Business $15,000
abc biz expenses $2,000
def biz expenses $2,000
ghi biz expenses 2,000

If you add up the income ($9,000) and the expenses ($6,000) you arrive at what is listed as both the “Business” Income and “Business” Expense totals ($15,000).

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to correct this one my end.

Thnks

If on the Categories sheet Business is specified for both Income and Expense Types, try making that name unique, like:
Business Income
Business Expense

The current setup looks like this

Category | Group | Type
abc business income | Business | Income
abc business expense | Business | Expense

And the problem still exists

Do you still get the same result if you make unique groups for business? Business Income and Business Expense

Ok that solved it! Thanks a million! :folded_hands: :folded_hands:
