How can I track non-budgeted expenditures? If I have a 5k monthly budget and 2k in non-budgeted expenditures, where do I find the non-budgeted purchases?

If it were me, I’d designate the non-budgeted expenses according to whichever category makes sense and add a Tag named “Non-budgeted expense” for tracking purposes. If you don’t already use Tags, you can find more information about using them and the Tags Report here: Docs: Tags Report for Transaction Tagging. I find it extremely useful and use it extensively.

Hi…I do the same thing with a few larger expenses that I don’t want skewing my budget. I created an “off budget” category and then hid it from reports. In this way, it doesn’t show on my monthly figures. But when I want to see where I am with it I use the Tiller Community “Transanction Tracker” work sheet to list just the off budget items.
