Thanks Ben â not sure I can do that after the fact, or at least âshow and tellâ doesnât show up in a tag I can add if I edit the original post.
Hmm i can almost change it but it tells me i dont have permission to post new topics to show and tell. Maybe @heather could assist?
If not I can just repost it there if there is a way to delete this post.
Nice work Carl. Just a bit of feedback.
I have a couple manual accounts where my Group name matches my account name, when the (xxxx####) is removed from the account name and that causes a problem in the reporting:
I was poking around in the Expanded Balance History
tab and I noticed this Error. There is an Account ID
column in that same sheet. Note that I have not added the optional Additional Account Properties
tab to my Tiller spreadsheet yet.
Thanks for the reports, exactly what I wanted. Understand the first issue â not totally sure what to do about that, but I will think on it.
Not sure Iâm following the second issue â do you not have an Account ID column in your Accounts sheet? Iâm only importing your Accounts tab starting with column F so maybe thatâs causing an issue if youâve added additional columns before that? The âAccountâ header is re-used in the Tiller account sheet, so I was trying to avoid bringing in the configurable area and just bring in the hidden by default summary stuff.
Yes, column F.
These are the A:J header columns in the Expanded Balance History
tab:
And data appears to be okay up until the column J error.
Oh, thatâs just the Closed Date (if you are using the Additional Account Properties stuff I added). It shouldnât cause a problem that it is N/A â or at least I tried to handle all the cases such that it didnât. Are you seeing errors on any of the report tabs?
I havenât seen any errors in the reports. The doubled group/account I mentioned just got me poking around and I saw that error.
Okay great, let me see if there is anything I can do about groups with the same name as accounts.
Iâm not sure if thereâs something wrong with this report, or Iâm just not understanding it
Spending Over Time - Trailing 12 Months - Compare to Prior Year - Tags are ORâd
There are missing months and the comparisons are happening to different months.
Ahh shoot, yes, thanks for flagging this. In my testing I had data income/spending data for all periods so everything lined up, but I can see how with tag filtering that wouldnât always be the case. I will force them to connect.
Instead of the word âTrailingâ in the date range drop down, how about using âLastâ to be consistent with Tiller and Mint? And maybe even better to use the same list order as Tiller??
For reference:
cps Tiller Dashboard ----Tiller Spending Trends -------Mint
One thing Iâd love to see is the Goals functionality from Mint. This allowed for multiple accounts to be tied to the goal and you can quickly see progress over time. I know there are a couple of solutions out there Savings Goal Tracker (BETA) and Savings & Debt but they have limitations or additional complexity. I can share more if youâre not as familiar with this functionality from Mint. Thanks!
Iâm not super familiar with it. Is it just the sum of a group of accounts? If thatâs all it is, I think you could at least use the new account properties thing I added to create a âGoalsâ property, then assign whatever accounts to whatever goal name you wanted. You could then filter by those goals to see only those accounts.
Would something like that work?
I can always count on you for the details Mark!
I made some edits to try to line these up a little better (and added week, including proper week number based Y/Y comparison!). Posting new version 3.1 with fixes to this and everything else momentarily!
Okay! Thanks for the feedback this weekend â Iâve just updated the main link with v 3.1 of the dashboard, that includes fixes to all the feedback. Thanks @Mark.S!
Let me look into that and let you know. There were some other minor bells and whistles, like monthly targets and overall targets, but Iâm pretty sure the monthly was not based on transactional data and just on balance changes, so it should be fairly straightforward to build based on what youâve already created. Thanks.
If you made a copy in the last 5 minutes I just fixed a date range bug in place, so grab a copy again, sorry about that â didnât want to make a whole new link.
Hi @cps ,
This is awesome, thank you for sharing.
I got most of it to work, except for Net Worth Over Time sheet. It appears that the NWOT sheet is linked to the Balance History sheet, which is not populated as it gives an error indicating that the result is too large.
I noticed there were two previous discussions about results being too large, but that was for another sheet as well. I have 19K rows in the balance history sheet.
Any suggestions on how to work around this issue?
Thanks,
AHB
You are a long time Tiller user!
I can make a change to that tab in the next update, but if you look at the Transactions tab you can see the work around to import columns A:N in cell A1 and then columns M:Z in M1. I think that should get this working for you.
