The Purrrrrfect Way to Hide Your Credit Card Payments

I found my cats hiding in the linen closet like they owned the place. It instantly reminded me of one of Tiller’s sneakiest and most useful features: Hide from Reports.

If you’ve ever looked at your Monthly Budget, Yearly Budget, or Category Tracker and thought,

“Why is my credit card payment showing up as spending?”

you are not alone.

This question comes up often in the community. Transfers and savings moves can show up as expenses, which throws off your reports and makes things harder to understand.

Here’s how to fix it:

Go to your Categories sheet and find the column labeled “Hide from Reports.”
If you want to exclude a category from your reports, select Yes in that column for that category.

The transaction still exists and your balances stay accurate. It just won’t appear in your budget reports.

This is helpful for:

  • Credit card payments
  • Transfers between accounts
  • Reimbursements
  • Savings contributions

If you are talking about credit card payments, be sure the Type is set to Transfer, and the Hide from Reports column says Yes.

This will clean up your Category Tracker, Monthly and Yearly Budgets, and Insights.

If you’re using this feature or have questions, share in the comments. It’s a small trick that makes a big difference.
