Have been using Tiller on my Local drive for past few years. My Tiller Add-In has disappeared from my Data ribbon again. I attempted to re-add, but, the Add-In goes in to wait mode (Rotating Windmill) and I never get the Add-in option to load. Read the threads on trouble shooting and opened the file in my Web Excel version and was able to load the Tiller Add-In.
Questions:
Based on my description of the issue only appearing on my local version of the file. Any suggestions on what may be causing the issue w/ the Add-In’s not loading?
Is there a way to synch the online copy of the spreadsheet with the local version? My preference is to not have to load Web Excel to use Tiller.
If I need to continue to use Web Excel, Web Excel is wanting to optimize my Tiller spreadsheet by performing various functions on the formulas, formatting, etc. I was given 3 chances to skip this action. I am down to one chance to skip. In the absence of being able to load Tiller Add-In on my local version of Excel can/should I optimize my Tiller Spreadsheet in the web version?
Thank you in advance for any assistance or guidance.
@jimmyv I don’t have all the answers to this issue. You may need to reach out to support.
Here are some basic troubleshooting questions I have for you:
When did this issue first start for you on the local drive? What version of Excel are you on your local drive? Excel needs to be installed from a Microsoft 365 subscription for desktop use. Have you checked that you are running the latest update for Excel?
Were you following the steps below for installing the add-in?
Install the Tiller Money Feeds add-in for Excel.
Open My Add-ins from the Home ribbon in your Excel workbook
Search for “Tiller” in the Store
Click “Add” and the add-in will appear in your Data ribbon.
Open the Tiller Money Feeds add-in from the Data ribbon and sign in
Sign in using the account you used to subscribe to Tiller. Note: this could be different than the account you use for your Microsoft 365 subscription.
You can also try to uninstall and reinstall the add-in:
How to Uninstall the Excel Add-In
If you need to uninstall the Excel add-in you can use the following steps.
Open Microsoft Excel.
Navigate to the Home ribbon, then Add-ins
Click the “More add-ins” button.
Under My Add-Ins, click the … next to the Tiller Money Feeds add-in
Choose Remove.
Read the notice that appears regarding other devices and click Remove.
If you have any issues with the above steps, write to our support team using the chat support or via support@tillerhq.com with details on where you got stuck by providing the numbered step above and a screenshot of any error or confusing result.
All software versions current. I ended up logging out and then back into Excel. Seemed to fix the issue w/ the Add-ins. I have multiple MS Accounts and somehow my Excel was connected to a business account. I assume this created the issue w/ the Add-In functionality. As usual, fixing one issue has now lead to trying to troubleshoot why Excel was attached to an MS account I no longer use.
@jimmyv I’m glad that was an easy resolution for you. I just found my gmail was logged in to a secondary gmail account as the primary email within my browser (not Tiller related). I’m glad I caught it. I hope you figure out how your Excel got attached to an old account!
