Tiller Add-In Not Loading

I don’t know if there is maintenance going on but the add-in will not load this morning (2/7 7am ET).

Things seem ok now. Not sure what was going on.

Using a Mac and running Excel on Office 365 family version. Lost Add-in. How can it be reinstalled?

Tiller Money feeds not loading into my Excel sheets today. Downloaded a fresh Foundation worksheet from the Tiller Console and can not install it there either. Tried another one of my computers. Same thing. I get “Add-in Error” with options to Restart or Close. Neither option does anything. Is Tiller Money feeds down?

I had the same issues this morning. However, it just magically appeared a few minutes ago.

@msrussllc are you still having this issue?

I’m on a Mac using the Desktop app and I’m not having any issues.

Are you on Windows? If so, what version? Desktop app or Excel Online?

I’d recommend making sure your operating system and version of Excel are completely up to date. Sometimes when Microsoft pushes updates to their software it causes issues if you’re not fully up to date and/or you got the update and it breaks something.

Their last release was on 9/8 :woman_shrugging:

The Tiller add-in was missing from my Template again today. It usually does get removed but had been available by clicking the add-ins and would show up in my list at the top. Today, I remember I could do a search and Tiller was found and added back in without issue.

I’m having the same issue today. I try to add in Tiller Money feed and it will not load. I get the following error:

I’ve ensured my Excel is up-to-date. I’ve closed the spreadsheet and restarted. I’ve checked for PC updates. I’ve shut down my PC for 2 minutes and restarted. None of this has helped.

hi @kyandsarah :waving_hand:

What operating system and version are you running? What’s the version info for Excel you’re running?

We’re not able to reproduce this issue so we’re sort of in the dark on how to troubleshoot get it working beyond the others’ reports that it just starts working on it’s own. Sorry for this inconvenience!

Heather

I am having the same issue. Add-in is missing today and I get an error if I try to load it. I am running Excel on the desktop, it is a Microsoft 365 license and is up to date. OS is windows 11 and is also up to date.

I was able to load the add-in again today. I did receive the following error which has been a normal occurrence for some time that I haven’t been able to resolve. Clicking Restart removed they error dialog.

Windows 11 Pro 25H2
Microsoft 365 Version 2608 (Build 20326.20144)
Chrome Version 153.0.8010.37

I’m getting this now:

Strange. I just searched for it, added it in without issue. Are you using the same sign-in account?

There’s no problem finding it, it just won’t load properly. The error I posted came after trying to install from the app page. I just get a generic error if I try to load from within Excel.
After a lot of logging out and back in and clearing caches, I got the add-in to show up in my add-ins list, but it fails to load.

I’m sorry you are experiencing this error. I know it is getting frustrating. It looks like you have tried all the troubleshooting steps in the help guidelines Troubleshooting Excel add-in.

I’m having the same issue too. I opened Excel, and the Tiller add-in isn’t available. When I tried to load it, I got an error that it failed to load properly. The error is “error loading add-ins.” I’ve fully exited Excel several times and tried again. Restarting didn’t help.

I’m on Excel Version 2608 (Build 16.0.20326.20072) with a current, active subscription to Microsoft 365 running on Windows 11. Excel opens without issues, just the Tiller add-in that fails. I can’t add the Tiller add-in through the store thingy either - same error.

Edited to add: I’ve tried restarting my computer. I logged out of Microsoft, shut down all Office products, did a hard reboot, and logged back in. I logged out of Microsoft, logged back in, and THEN restarted Excel. I’ve confirmed that the date and time on my computer are correct. I cleared the Web add-in cache at %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Wef. I confirmed that Connected Experiences are enabled in Excel.

I’m still getting the exact same error message, “Error loading add-ins.”

I did all those things as well. The add-in does load in the web version of excel, but no longer loads in my tiller file.

@jaggy732 according to the Microsoft release notes for the current channel it looks like you may be running a version from mid-August rather than the latest version.

Can you try making sure you’ve install all available Windows updates and Microsoft 365/Office updates?

Often times when Microsoft pushes updates that’s when we see these issues.

For reference: Here are my current versions as of today:
Windows 11 Pro 25H2 26200.9457
Microsoft 365 Version 2608 (Build 20326.20158)
Chrome Version 153.0.8010.53
