What’s the one Tiller feature you couldn’t live without — and why?
Beyond the reason I came to tiller, spreadsheets and connecting all my accounts, I really rely on the community templates.
The savings budget is the sheet I open to and watch the most. I don’t keep a strict zero based budget, but it is very visible on how I am tracking against what I think.
I also regularly use the account register; it is very helpful with manual accounts that I have transactions to add as I can see the balance to make sure it matches my account. I have caught missed transactions, where I might not with the manual balance update in the console.
I’m not sure if ‘flexibility’ is a ‘feature’ but it’s one of the things I value most about my Tiller setup. Being flexible enough that I can move my columns around and add new ones, add sheets, change the formatting is something I couldn’t live without. I couldn’t do those things in the previous solutions I’d used, you got the interface they gave you, like it or not.
Oh it’s absolutely the auto pull. I think that’s part of the beauty of this platform is that as their statement says our data is always ours we can move it wherever but the auto-pulling of data make it so much easier.
Savings budget, because it allows me to budget the way I’ve budgeted my entire adult life.
I cannot live without the simple ability to pull transitions into one sheet from across all my accounts. I have my own Google Sheet to manually enter my trnasitions as I make them, but humans make mistakes and it is great to get confirmation from Tiller.
