Adding Month and Week Data necessary?

I need to add historical data for 2024 and am a bit confused about Step 4.a Adding Month and Week Data (optional) I don’t want to mess up things by making a mistake in adding data that was not pulled for Jan-May 2024.

The Step4a. says " OPTIONAL" so I take that to mean it is not necessary to add month and week data?

However, the last section of 4.a. says, :warning: It’s important to do this step BEFORE you paste your manual data into the Transactions sheet because Tiller Money Feeds automatically fills in Month and Week data for new automated transactions.”

That warning statement makes me concerned whether Tiller Money Feeds will try to fill that in next time it runs? Would my manual entries be acted upon as automated transactions? Does it ignore blank entries of month and week data for historical transactions added manually?

My radiation and chemo + 75 yr old brain is a bit muddled and I could use some help to know it is safe to not worry about the month and week data or that I do need to add it to my prep sheet.

Hope my request makes sense, if not clear enough, please feel free to ask for more detail. Appreciate the help from the community! Thanks in advance!

I believe you are referring to section 4.a of this help article:

It won’t for existing transactions and only will for newly filled transactions.

No, all transactions (manual or otherwise) that exist before new fills will remain unchanged.

Yes.

Hi @kmacker wishing you a speedy recovery :face_with_head_bandage:

Is there no Month and Week column already in your sheet?

Thank you for such a fast reply. OK, that’s the info I was looking for. Didn’t want things to get added and trying to keep it simple.

Deeply appreciate your help…

Yes all the columns are there. I was just concerned that things might get automated if I enter data without a month and week entry as I add in some historical data.

Thanks for asking and looking out for me! :slightly_smiling_face:

I believe the instruction is intended to make sure the columns match up between the data due to be imported and that already in your sheet
