Anyone have a simple Report that tracks Cash Flow Monthly? Cash-in Cash out

Surprisignly I’m not finding anything that’s a simple Cash flow statement. I pay cash for my credit card bills but often have balances. Expenses on a credit card are categorized in to expenses, but it’s not really cash out until I pay for it on the credit card. I just want to see what cash came in from paychecks etc., and what cash went out for expenses (credit card), non-credit card expenses, investments etc. Thanks

Hello @MoMentum, great to see you back in the Community. You caught my attention with “pay cash for my credit card bills.” Is this literally sending them cash, or is it your bank account deduction (cash) for your credit card bill?

I have a category of “Transfer between accounts.” I use this category for the credit card deduction from my bank account since each individual transaction was already accounted for in the credit card sync. The Credit card shows a line item of my payment, which is obviously not income to me. I also mark this as a category of “Transfer between accounts.” These are excluded as income or expenses.

Are you doing full accrual accounting or a sort of hybrid? If it’s the latter, the best bet is to add in your bank account on a separate sheet and have that track the in’s and outs of your accounts.
Because tiller doesn’t do full double entry accounting you’ll otherwise end up with double expenses.

If you already have your bank accounts linked and have the activity show up as transfer as Alice mentioned; you just need to get a report to pull in the transfers and specific accounts. I believe the Category Tracker template has most of what you would need
