Overview
Anyways, It’s a bills and subscription tracker. It utilizes the Budget Plan template and dynamically updates the due dates according to the frequency they occur. I then use that to output into a dashboard that displays bills for the next 3 months, all active subscriptions and their due date, and all active bills and their due dates.
The goal is to be able to view all active subscriptions as well as anticipate any recurring subscriptions and bills.
The idea came out of obvious frustrations with surprise subscriptions I forgot about and just wanting a better handle on when these bills and subscriptions happen every month.
The Tracker
This is the sheet that is the engine that dynamically checks and automatically updates the next due date based on the Budget Plan template. Once it’s set up, I hide the sheet because the useful bits are output to a dashboard seen below. It is maintenance free and will track any newly added bill or subscription to the Budget Plan sheet.
Budget Plan Template Addition
I added one column to the Budget Plan template that will automatically add a flag to any category I classify as a subscription or a bill in the tracker sheet that meets certain criteria. e.g. is enabled, has not passed the end date, is one of the categories listed in the tracker sheet
The Dashboard
The final output is a clean view of upcoming bills/subs over the next 3 months, all active subscriptions, bills, their due dates and the cost. Available in a dashboard
Installation
I’m not sure how convenient and therefore useful it will be because it is dependent on the Budget Plan. The only issue I ran into is if the budget plan template is updated to a new version, I, of course, have to add the column again and associate the tracker to the new sheet .
If people like it enough, I will be happy to create a template and add detailed installation instructions.
Usage
As long as any new subscription is added to the budget plan sheet, it will automatically capture and update. No maintenance necessary just a useful visual to help you understand how many subscriptions and bills you have and when their next dude date is.
Permissions
As I said above, I’m not the most experienced user of excel so if it can inspire you to make it better or find another way to make it do the same thing then go for it.
