I manually track daily net worth in my Tiller sheet. I use the data from the daily email. The data is also on the Balance History tab. How can I automate this task? I know about the Net Worth Tracker sheet but that is a separate sheet and it is only monthly. Currently, I have a sheet with each date on a row and each asset and liability balance in its own column.
I’m happy to share how I do this using Excel, as it took a long time for me to figure this out and I’m hoping it can save you some time! (it may be different if you’re using Google sheets). I have an account sheet that links to the “Balance History” tab. It requires you to set it up by first copying and pasting exact account names into the first column, but then pulls the balances in automatically all in by date (obviously it would require some extra setup to switch from monthly to daily updates). I’m attaching a link below so you can directly get the sheet and copy the formulas:

I will take a look at. Thanks!
I have it all incorporated into my Daily Net Worth tab and it works perfectly. I had to change some things around since I totaled rows while you totaled columns, I used daily while you used monthly, and I relearned how the $ works so I could extrapolate to multiple rows/days. Many thanks. Blake
You’re very welcome-I’m glad it worked!
Thanks for sharing this @Kathryn! And welcome to you both to the Tiller Money Community!
Just fyi, there is now a new Tiller Labs sheet that let’s you get your Net Worth on any date, or compare between any two dates.
More info here:
Is there any solution to track/display/compare historical net worth for more periods than 12 months?
Yeah this thing is limited to 12 months, seems silly. I cancelled my Tiller account but if we can get this, I would come back.
Here is an easy workaround. Go to the Net Worth tab and click on the arrow to the right of the tab’s name. You can select Duplicate or Copy To. In the new copy, go to the End Date (cell E5 in my sheet) and type 4/30/2022. Repeat this process again and type 4/30/2021 in cell E5 in the second new sheet. So now you have net worth data by month for three years (over three tabs) from 05/30/20 to 04/30/23.
Cheers, Blake
The Balance History sheet can become bloated when you have many accounts that update daily so it was limited to 12 months initially to prevent performance degradation associated with having to scan the entire balance history sheet and output data for a larger time period.
@espelement What time period would feel sufficient to you? If you don’t mind, we’d love for you to share your idea/expectations as a new feature request if this doesn’t already exist. https://community.tiller.com/c/feature-requests/15
I have another sheet that I was extracting Mint data, and I have history from 2017 in my google sheet with no problem with no slow downs. The reason I have considered departing from this, is that google and mint keep changing things about Chrome and Mint cookies that I the code has to be revised. I like it because I have a sheet with all balances continuing to run, so I can track investment history easily. With Tiller, I was doing a manual copy each day to keep track. But if I miss it for 3 days, it would put in the same net value for 3 days straight instead of pulling each days real value.
Could we have these extracted out to a new sheet at the beginning of the year or how can I see this data? This way it can be copied out maybe?
