On some days when I refresh my accounts I end up with 2 entries for an account balance which causes the amount calculated in the “balances” tab to be close to double what it should be. I am using a version of the template which predates the current Foundation Template since I joined on with Tiller 5+ years ago.
Can someone tell me if the current template accounts for multiple entries for a particular day? Part of the complication is that if there are 2 entries, the most recent one is usually not the one on the higher row.
I guess I could avoid refreshing my account if there has been a refresh in the past 24 hours but I usually just refresh everything in the morning when I wake up.
Hi @dminches are you seeing these entries in the Balances Sheet or Balance History sheet? I typically see multiple entries in the Balance History sheet and the most recent is displayed in the Balances sheet unless there’s an issue with the timestamp.
Perhaps write into support as there could be something more that’s specific to your file that’s going on or maybe some other data quality issue depending on the institution.
The duplicate entries are in the balance history sheet. The issue is that they have the same date. What I am asking is if the current foundation template formula has been updated to only pick the most recent even if they have the same date.
@dminches Yes. that’s how it’s meant to work. That’s why it might be best to contact support. Have you noticed any weird format for the timestamp portion of the date entry?
Hello, I have set up a macro on one of my tabs that removes duplicate balances from the WEEK, keeping only the latest refrsh date value. I turned this into a button that i click 1x after refreshing for the day. WOrks well. I built a lot of other graphs & visuals that also get duplicated via balance history sheet, so the macro solves this.
interesting and sophisticated solution! well done
