Editing variable color

Are the dropdown menus in the Tiller Foundation template editable in terms of appearance?

My wife and I have been trying Tiller with a budget template I found online and adapted, but now I think it will be best for us to switch to the Foundation template. One of the things I did in our old template was to color code our budget categories, as in the screenshot below. It both made the categories easier to find (“oh right. groceries = teal!”) and was just kind of fun.

But when I try to edit the dropdown menu in the Tiller Foundation template similarly (using Data Validation rules), it doesn’t seem to affect their appearance - I just get the same boring text. :slightly_smiling_face: Is the appearance of the sheet not customizable?

Never mind - I figured it out; just needed to select the “Chip” option under Advanced Options in the Data Validation menu

Interesting side note: Color-coded cells will work with the “Arrow” and “Plain text” options as well, but only the “Chip” option will show the color-coded values while expanding the dropdown.
