Hide transactions but keep info for balances

I want to get rid of the MANY transactions that my broker generates each month but keep the info (balances, etc) . How do I do that? I’ve searched for an answer and managed to hide the transactions but the balances etc also disappeared.

Thanks in advance

I haven’t found a way to do this since starting using Tiller a few years ago. However, I basically forget about the investment accounts on the Balances tab because I don’t ever have to categorize anything for them due to using the Autocat tab. If you setup rules based on the transactions that have already been downloaded, you can effectively do the same.

Many people use AutoCat to either mark for manual deletion or to use a Transfer Category that will simply be hidden from reports like Net Worth. Deleting them has a pro of reducing your Transactions sheet data size for better performance, assuming you don’t care about having these transactions.

AutoCat sheet:

Category Description Account Equals
Transfer DELETEME Vanguard Group (Quicken)

And you could add conditional formatting to make it even easier to find them for deleting.

Transactions sheet conditional formatting:

I actually use AppsScript to automatically delete them once a day, but I think it would be quite easy and manageable to manual delete them.

Thanks, but that’s way too complicated for a complete sheets novice like me. You might as well be talking in ancient Sanskrit.

You just need to make the AutoCat sheet change, the rest is extra.

I use this method:

@jefflawsonvb I think using AutoCat is a good idea. Let us know if you try some of the other suggestions and how it goes for you!
