When you think budget and college student you probably think ramen! Even as an adult when I’m not pinching pennies so tightly that I need 12 packages of noodles for a $1 (I wish it was still that cheap) I’m still buying ramen … nostalgia??
That little ramen video got me thinking! It’s not just about scraping by; it’s about finding joy in the everyday, and sometimes, that joy is a delicious, steaming bowl of noodles. But “budgeting for what you love” goes way beyond just affordable comfort food, doesn’t it?
As adults, our “ramen” might be a weekend getaway, a new piece of tech for a hobby, tickets to a concert, materials for a creative project, or even just a guilt-free fancy coffee now and then. These are the things that add color and fun to life!
This is where the magic of having a truly flexible financial setup, like we do with Tiller, really shines. We’re not confined to rigid categories someone else defined. We can create budgets that truly reflect our priorities and passions.
I’d love to hear from this amazing community:
- What’s one thing you enthusiastically budget for that purely brings you joy? (Big or small, we want to hear it!)
- Do you have any special Tiller categories, dashboards, or even separate sheets dedicated to tracking your hobbies, travel fund, or “fun money”? (e.g., “Adventure Fund,” “Crafting Cache,” “Concert Tickets,” “Guilt-Free Takeout”)
- How has seeing your financial picture clearly in Tiller helped you make more room (or save up) for the things you genuinely love to do or buy?
- And just for fun, following my ramen memory: Any other “good old days” prices for your favorite things that make you chuckle (or maybe shed a small tear) when you think about them now?
