Just curious to learn from our community members here, how many of you are coming from Quicken?
I can’t really tell how much of a market share Quicken really has anymore. Then there’s Quicken Simplifi … which one did you use specifically?
If you came over from Quicken, how difficult was it to switch? Both from a technical (these are the steps) perspective as well as any required shifts to your mental model or way of thinking about your budget.
Are there things you miss about Quicken that Tiller doesn’t offer?
Would love any input you can provide, especially if you moved over recently or are still using Quicken on the side
I still use Simplifi along with Tiller. What has been nice about Simplifi is their superb bank syncing and having multiple aggregators. They do try to fix issues with syncing as soon as they can. One problem with them, though, is their budgeting workflows are very rigid and Savings Goals do not link with transactions. I’ve kept with Tiller because of its versatility and flexibility. If Tiller supported a truly Envelope based budget that was easy to use, I wouldn’t need to build my own, like I have. I’ve made great progress with QFX imports into my Tiller sheet (no duplicates!), so that is alleviatingthe aggrevation of the myriad of sync issues I have with Canadian Banks.
