Although the Interactive Brokers (IBKR) connection works, once my account started holding foreign currency it started simply summing raw numbers together (in this case yen). This obviously breaks the whole information feed since differing USD and JPY amounts are not disambiguated from each other.
If anyone else is in this situation, what do you usually do? I just unlinked the IBKR connection so it will stop pulling in erroneous values everyday. I figured I would just manually re-link every once in a while and do a manual conversion to correct the Balance History.
However, that seems onerous. Long-term I’m leaning towards just deleting the connection, which is unfortunate. @heather Since one of IBKR brokerage main uses is to hold multiple currencies, I would recommend not supporting this connection until currency handling is figured out. It feels misleading to me to say that connection works.

thanks for the suggestions @Clint.C . Took a look at the thread on international banks and I’m not sure I’d implement a solution that requires as much manual effort as most of those suggest.
I’ll reach out to the support team to see what their stance is on the IBKR connection.
