Is there a Way to Sync my Credit Card's Available Credit

Hi All, I’m new to Tiller and really liking the power it has given me to keep track of where my family’s personal finances are so we don’t blow the budget every month.

It would really help to know precisely where our credit card balances are as close to real-time as possible, so we can quickly open our Google Sheet from a shortcut on our phones to understand if we have it in our budget to spring for that expensive dinner out or what have you.

From reviewing the previous discussion on the topic, I understand that pending transactions are not available to be pulled in as transactions because it is reportedly too complex. It would be helpful though because I can easily have several hundred dollars in pending transactions that take days to post, which can blow my budget, even though my tracker shows I’m OK, based on posted transactions.

Instead of including pending transactions, is it possible to show / sync the available credit for each credit card? Subtracting off the available credit from the credit limit would provide me with a pretty good estimate for how much I have spent on each card, and therefore, roughly how much I have left to spend in my budget.

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately, their available credit in this work flow is estimated by subtracting the credit card balance (which would only include posted transactions) from the user’s stated credit limit. So it wouldn’t include the pending charges and therefore cannot be accurate, with the true balance still lagging by days.

I wonder if Tiller could pull the real-time available credit data directly from the bank and include this as another field next to balance, because when the institution calculates the ‘true’ available credit, they do in fact include all posted and pending transactions. Is this credit card property accessible to Tiller (and by extension us) when it syncs our data?

Hi @Graham our data feeds don’t currently pull in available credit information

Not too complex necessarily, just hasn’t been a priority yet given a large backlog of feature requests and changes to improve the core product. But we are working on it and hoping to have early beta testing for pending transactions for Plaid connections to start out soon  Yodlee connections will eventually get it, but we do things incrementally.
