Sorry if this is a repeat, but I’ve searched and searched and found no info. I want to limit my transactions download to the last month, not everything. This is because I had an account that wasn’t downloading properly so I would export CSVs and add by hand. Moving that account from Yodlee to Plaid fixed the download problem, but now when I get transactions, Tiller downloads months and months worth of them, giving me double entries (but with completely different descriptions). Surely there’s a way? Thank you.
Hi @Brooks, I don’t have an official answer to this. I definitely would recommend reaching out to our support team via the chat window in the lower right corner of the Console at https://my.tiller.com/.
My thought is to try linking to a FRESH spreadsheet, you can have up to 5. When it imports, copy the range of rows you want and paste them into your actual spreadsheet so you can control what paste transactions come in.

Thanks. The question is, if I import transactions in say a week, will Tiller “see” that it’s caught up and just give me the last week’s worth?
I tried pasting over the transactions for this month from the alternate spreadsheet to the main spreadsheet, then ran a new transactions pull in the main one. Hilariously (not hilariously) not only did it still pull all the old transactions for the accounts I fixed, it also re-pulled every transaction for the last 2.5 years for the account that I’ve had no problem with, doubling them all. Thankfully I made a backup.
I’ve given Tiller one and half years, and I’ll be using it for the rest of this year (with manual imports) so I have a clear year’s worth of data to look at my spending, but then I’m done.
oh, good question. We should pull the customer success team in on this to give you a precise answer. Since this isn’t something I do regularly I can only speculate.

So here is my speculation… there is a window that it syncs. Maybe 60 days (that number is not fixed, it varies by accounts and how much data they are willing to sync through the data connector) … once the sync window passes, you’ll stop getting those old ones, so in the meantime… sync to the “fake” spreadsheet and copy paste over the relevant ones. Not a great solution, but not too cumbersome.

I am pretty sure that the transactions will all need to be downloaded then you can delete what you want and the transactions will continue to fill from that date on. I dont believe there is a wy to limit the history of how long it goes back.
Hi Brooks,
Tiller shouldn’t pull in data again once it’s already been pulled into a spreadsheet once (even if you’ve deleted the data manually, it won’t re-pull). The feeds do know where they left off in each spreadsheet. New spreadsheets will get all data associated with that account since Tiller never pulled anything into that sheet for that account yet.
If you are seeing that data is pulling into the same spreadsheet more than once, then that could be an issue with either the data feeds or the Tiller Money Feeds extension. We’ve been working on the backend for the extension this year and there have been a couple batches of duplicates associated with our product pushes this year you may be running into. You should be able to remove the duplicates and not see them again. If you keep seeing duplicates, reach out to support and we can dive in more to see what is causing the issue for you.
This is correct, there isn’t a way to give the feeds a date range of what to pull in. They’ll pull in everything to a new spreadsheet and you can remove the rows of data you don’t need.
Thanks for the advice and thoughts everyone. I appreciate it.
You could let them import and then go to Tiller Community Solutions, Tools, Manage Duplicates. It should find all of the duplicate transactions and allow you to delete the unnecessary ones.
