Hi I manually added transactions from past years. I did this by carefully lining up the data to match the columns in the transaction sheet and copy and pasted. The problem I am having though is when I run reports it does not include any of these manually added transactions. Can you help me figure out what went wrong?
Strange! Adding manual transactions shouldn’t be a problem as long as you put the proper data in the correct columns, and you can’t have any blank rows separating the ‘manual’ data from the existing data. Is the ‘old’ data all at the bottom of the transaction list, or is it sorted into/among the other data? If it’s at the bottom, are there any blank rows between it and the rest of the data? Which reports have you tried running that didn’t work?
It is at the bottom of the sheet but there are no blank rows between the data. I tried to run the static Profit and Loss report which brought my attention to it. Then I looked at the monthly budget tab and tried to go back to a year from the old transactions but the drop down box only had years through the imported data transactions. I.e. it stopped at 2024 but I still have data all the way through 2020.
I figured it out! Thanks for your help. It was not an issue with the transactions. I didn’t realize I had to manually add the years to the drop down box on the monthly budget. And as for the profit and loss report it was set on a certain account not set to all. I didn’t realize it mattered because it was all one account but there was a typo in the older account name.
