I linked an institution with both banking and investment type accounts.
The investment accounts aren’t pulling their transactions. I have some as recent as 3 days ago. Why is this?
Otherwise everything else is pulling fine. Balances on both types of accounts. Transacitons from the banking accounts.
It was linked with Plaid and pretty sure Plaid provides transactions for type = investment. Why aren’t they showing up in tiller?
Thanks!
My hunch is that you’re going to have to touch base with customer support on this one. If it’s something quirky about the institution’s connection to Tiller, none of us are going to be able to diagnose that.
I just started playing with Tiller this past weekend and see the same problems. I connected to accounts at Chase, Schwab, Vanguard and BECU (credit union). It got data for all of the savings (BECU, Vanguard Cash+) and checking (BECU, Schwab) and credit cards (Chase), but none of the “brokerage” accounts (Schwab, Vanguard) or 401k account (Vanguard). No balances, transactions and I have no idea where I’d even look to see if any holdings info was downloaded for the investment accts. (even though all of those accts were detected and I verified that they show as selected in the Connected Accts list)
Are you saying that Tiller is supposed to be getting that info? I’d pretty much been led to the conclusion that it doesn’t track investment accts. If it is supported, where should I find info about where to look for it or what it should be capable of showing?
Thanks! Scott
In general, Tiller can pull basic balance and transaction data on investment accounts. What it doesn’t (currently) pull is holdings data (i.e., the shares and balances of specific investments within your account). I can’t speak to Schwab or Vanguard (I use Fidelity), but I know there has been lots of chatter in the last few months about getting Vanguard accounts to feed into Tiller. You might search for those threads.
Will do. Thanks!
FWIW…if I can’t do reliably do general investment acct tracking through Tiller, that’s fine (I just do a double-take when I see something labeled “Net Worth” in the Tiller sheets when most of my “Net Worth” is untrackable by Tiller
). I can just use some other tool (e.g. Quicken Simplifi) for that (or don’t bother with a separate tool & continue using my own tracking sheet).
What I’m really looking for is budgeting & expense tracking capability right now. I’m planning to retire soon and want to get a handle on that part of things ;). And, I think that being able to get transactions from checking, savings, credit card accts is sufficient for that.
My Schwab equity awards accounts balance has not been updating recently, despite “refreshes” appearing to work just fine. My Schwab balance went up after some stocks vested, but the Tiller dashboard is showing an out of date balance. I hadn’t opened a ticket about this because there was an Institutional Alert regarding Schwab, but I now see that it’s been cleared, so I’ll open a ticket.
Perhaps there was a delay in the update but seems Schwab is back on the outages list again
