I’m interested in editing the profit loss report (not the live report, the one that’s script-based). I searched for documentation on it, and I couldn’t find any.
Does anyone know if that documentation exists, or point me how to do it?
(I’m specifically looking to add a filter by tag, I have been trying to solve this problem for many years now and have used bubblegum and duck tape to make it work, and it’s just not there yet. Yes, I know about the Live P&L Report, same problem (and it doesn’t include transfer categories), plus I need to copy/paste so I can add comments for my CPA - and trying to copy/paste the live report destroys the formatting, which makes me do things manually, which introduces room for error).
There is some limited customization possible on the script-driven P&L report. Essentially, the data will fill into a block inside the hidden template and you can change and add around that block as needed. There is a little instruction here.
Thanks Randy! I actually figured it out - took some time but ChatGPT and I made our own script from scratch to do exact work. I can now run a P&L, with any date range I choose, filtered by tag (or more than 1 tag if I chose), formatted for ease of readability, with basic formulas for totals - this allows me to do a complete ‘export to XLS’ for my CPA with no margin for error.
I think you all frown on scripts - but this one was necessary b/c of the exportability for the CPA. I know others have asked for this - shall I share it? They’d have to get cozy with AppScripts but it’s not that hard (ChatGPT walked me through it).
