When I launch the Tiller Money feeds and the sidebar pops up, I know to check for updates from my banks. It will say something like “15 updates filled”, but I only see one new transaction appear in the transactions tab. Hovering over it tells me “1 transaction filled. 14 balances filled” What exactly are the balances that have been filled? I’m only seeing the 1 transaction as the change on the sheet. Can someone please help me understand what those “balances filled” are? Thank you
Account balances are filled into the Balance History sheet, which is hidden by default.
It’s okay to unhide that sheet, if you like, many users do.
Thank you for your reply! I’m still very much a newbie to this…would you mind explaining to me what the balance history is? And what benefit is it to me if I unhide the sheet. Thank you!
Sure thing, and welcome to Tiller @lisa.robi.mill
Here’s an example of sample data stored in the Balance History sheet (account balances, instead of transactions):
It’s sometimes nice to reference for debug, in case sheets like Balances, Accounts, Net Worth, (which reference Balance History) appear off. Or maybe you just want to see what those “14 balances filled” were
You can hide and unhide the sheet as much as you like. The hidden state doesn’t matter for filling data or any solutions. Keeping it hidden is just a way to keep the sheets more tidy and those that matter most to the user visible.
Here’s a help article with some additional info about the Balance History sheet:
Thank you so much Mark! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me understand better.
