I’m using the Retirement Planner template, and no matter what I do, the line for the “lower range growth rate” is higher than the line for the “upper range growth rate”. I have tried reinstalling both the retirement planner and net worth sheets.
It looks like there are some parsing errors. For the years in “investment adjustments”, if I enter “=2035” they are computed, but if I just put in “2035” isn’t not. Same for “start withdrawal year”.
I thought maybe this was due to copying over something weird from another sheet, so I tried a totally new sheet. Linked accounts, filled tables, installed net worth / cash flow / retirement planner. Added accounts to retirement planner. Red line is still higher than green line, and entering any year into withdrawal year makes all withdrawals go away. @jono ?
Hi @endquotedotcom ,
I’m unable to duplicate what you are seeing. But i also don’t have all the numbers you have.
Yes, the green line should be higher than the red line, especially as you have a higher growth rate in the Upper Range Growth rate.
I’d suggest opening up the hidden columns of the sheet. Look in Columns AC to AH for the Upper Range and AJ to AO , starting in Row 24 for all the Upper Range and Lower Range calculations.
See if you can identify what’s going wrong in those cells.
Also check the details in columns AQ to AS to see if they look correct.
You shouldn’t have to enter =2035 for the Investment Adjustment years.
It’s hard to say what’s happening. By chance did you delete, add, or move any columns or rows? Doing so would like create problems.
@jono The values in the AC-AH cells are larger than the AJ-AO cells, so that seems right.
AQ-AS values all seem reasonable.
I’ve made no modifications to the sheets, and can reproduce even after “restoring” cash flow and retirement templates. And I tried making an entirely new tiller-linked document, with nothing in it other than a first sync, and see the same behavior there.
I could make a copy and remove some data to share if you want.
I’m having same issue. The green line is the portfolio goal. The red is the upper and the yellow is lower. I deleted cash flow and this sheet and down loaded. I havent done anything to either yet.
These templates used to be installed with robust API calls in the Tiller Community Solutions add-on. When we moved them into the Tiller Money Feeds add-on for easier access, the more restrictive add-on permissions in TMF meant that we needed to use different, more-limited, custom tooling. Unfortunately, we are still finding some areas where the templates are somewhat lossy (vs. the masters) when installed via TMF.
I’m looking into the issues you flagged and hope to publish and update this week.
It may take a little while for the template update to version 1.04 to clear Google’s caching, but I just published a new version, @michaelgspiro, @endquotedotcom, and @jono. Once it is live, you should see it available as an Update in TMF’s “Manage Templates” sidebar.
I think I was able to work through the issues you all flagged in this thread. Let me know if I missed something.
Looks like you fixed the reported issues.
I tried updating the sheet. First time, i got an error has occurred message.
I tried again. Success.
And the chart is correct and year entry works.
Thanks, it looks like the reported issues have been fixed.
Is there a chance that any other more subtle errors have snuck in? I know the retirement sheet is “for directional planning only” but I am using it to make some real-life decisions.
Does the cash flow sheet need any similar adjustments?
