Tags Report Template Not Showing Tags

I have a question about the Tags Report template from Tiller Community Solutions.

The tag report is not working dropdown does not show tags.

@fredbugatti Can you make sure the time period selected (start date and end date) include transactions that have tags. Keep in mind that you add tags on the Transactions sheet. There should be a column labeled “Tags”. Once the dates range includes transactions with tags, you should be able to select a specific tag in the dropdown.

Hi Warren,
Just worked, I was putting it only in categories and not transactions, is there a way to automate the tags?
I am only tagging categories not transaction, is that possible? Or do I also have to tag transactions?

Thanks!

@fredbugatti The Tags Report works off of the Transactions sheet.

Regarding automation, perhaps you can setup a rule using Autocat.

Is there a limit on the number of tags that can be viewed? I cannot see more than 90 tags. I have the right custom date filter setup.

Are you talking about the column A9:A? It looks like there shouldn’t be a limit there.

I am not sure what columns are those. I don’t see more than 90 tags in the dropdown in the Tags Report tab.

Hi @trackingmula - that dropdown is a data validation column, which is likely pulling from a hidden column out to the right in that sheet. Either there aren’t enough rows in the sheet to pull in all your tags in that hidden column or the data validation rule doesn’t have enough rows.

Click on one of the dropdowns and from the Data menu at the top choose “Data validation” and review the rule against the number of rows and unhide the columns out right to see if your full list is appearing there.

Hello, I’m having the same issue. I tried to see if I could figure this out from here, but I can’t quite figure out what to change to get it to count more rows… Is there any chance you could be a little more specific as to what dropdown to change and what data validation to change?

Thank you in advance!

Best,
Pete

There are hard coded formulas for columns B and C in the Tags Report sheet. Highlight the Teddy Tuition column B cell (-426.25), and drag down the formula in there all the way down to Row 200 in the sheet. Do the same for column C (3). You should see all of the data you need after doing this.

I added the Tags Report sheet which created a column labelled “Tags” in my Google sheet at location AB. I added many tags in the Transactions sheet but none shows in the report. Please help what I need to do for tags to show up. Thanks

Hi @goyalu maybe try moving the Tags column to another position closer to the far left (AB may not be in the range the Tags report is searching) and the Restore the Tags sheet using the Tiller Community Solutions add-on to see if it will then recognize your Tags.
