I’ve been a Tiller user for more than three years now, and I absolutely love it.
For context, I’m based in India and have multiple bank accounts and other financial accounts. I also combine my wife’s accounts so that we have a complete view of our household expenses and net worth.
Initially, most of my Indian accounts connected seamlessly through Yodlee. Over the past year or so, though, connectivity has become very patchy, and in some cases has stopped working altogether. One possible reason is that many Indian banks have moved to the consent-based Account Aggregator framework, which Yodlee does not appear to support yet.
As a result, I had to manually download statements, clean them up, and convert them into Tiller-compatible CSV files. It worked, but it was a fairly tedious process.
That has now completely changed with the introduction of the Tiller MCP for Claude.
I also subscribe to an Indian Account Aggregator service that can automatically retrieve my transactions through the consent-based framework. Fortunately, it also has an MCP for Claude.
I created a simple Claude skill that allows the two MCPs to work together. Claude retrieves the transactions from the Account Aggregator, converts them into a Tiller-ready format, and inserts them into my Tiller sheets.
It may sound like a small thing, but it has been a huge time saver for me. More importantly, it has removed one of the biggest friction points I had with Tiller and made an already great product even more useful.
