Travel planner template really slow

I am trying to use travel planner solution in my sheet. But when I start creating trips and add expenses etc., the entire sheet slows down considerably. I see a blue progress bar on top that says evaluating formulas for a long time (seems like always) without ever completing and the whole sheet actions slow down.
I have tried adding/removing/readding but the same issue persists. Has anyone faced this before and if there are any suggestions to use the travel planner solutions?

Funnily, i see the same kind of slowdown, but not as severe, in the video in the docs (but they attributed it to zoom call, which is not the case with me).

I don’t remember the Travel Planner being a particularly problematic sheet performance-wise, @alok.kumbhare. Is it possible your spreadsheets is overwhelmed by some other things going on in there? How many transactions do you have? How many accounts? How many templates are installed?

I’m running into the same problem. The moment I start to add something to a cell, the blue progress bar shows up.

I figured out that it’s adding hundreds of rows to the bottom of the spreadsheet over and over again, nonstop.

I’ve tried refreshing the page, deleting the planner and re-installing it multiple times but the same issue is occurring.

I came here to see if anyone else had run into this and to see if there was a solution for it.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, but I am still having the same issue. Mine is a new 2026 Foundation Template with ~6 templates installed, less than 100 transactions so far this year, and 32 accounts.

All symptoms described above by @kitphyre and @alok.kumbhare are those I am experiencing.

It’s likely the template itself not being built to be very performant. The formulas are probably not very efficient.

I’m not exactly sure what the issue is here. But I just downloaded the sheet from the Tiller Community Solution extension and notice something weird.

In N5, N6, and N7 in the template, the Trip id has a formula =L$4 hardcoded into the manual input section.

I wonder if that could be causing a problem?

View the formulas in your sheets, View > Show > Formulas.
