Troubleshooting missing transactions from Wells Fargo

After converting to Direct Fills transactions from Wells Fargo via Yodlee are not being imported into Tiller. The Institutions Alert sheet reports “User Action Required.” There are no messages for me on the Wells Fargo site so I don’t know what Action is required.

The last transaction downloaded from Wells Fargo was 5 days ago Thursday, Feb 26. About 8 transactions have cleared since then.

Tiller Console Activity log for the Tiller sheet shows that two balances were updated as of this morning but no transactions were added.

How can I find out what User Actions are required to solve this problem?

Possibly Solved:

In Tiller Console, I Edited the Connection to Wells Fargo. The missing transactions were almost immediately added to my Tiller sheet.

Hoping this is a permanent solution.

@ScottC had you previously just refreshed with the “Refresh” button before trying “Edit credentials” steps? If so, editing credentials is one of the basic troubleshooting actions to take which can resolve refresh related issues.

UPDATE: Wells Fargo transactions missing since March 25

For just over two weeks, Wells Fargo bank transactions have not been added to my Tiller Google Sheet. The issue started March 25.

What I know:

  • Tiller Console can connect to my Wells Fargo accounts and updates balances normally.

  • The Description column in Institution Alerts shows “User Action Required” with a resolution date of April 13.

  • When I log in to Wells Fargo directly, I see no messages or alerts — so I don’t know what action is actually required.

Two questions:

Since Tiller Console can connect and pull balances, does that mean transactions are also being downloaded but held in limbo somewhere? Or are balance updates and transaction imports completely independent processes?

Would you suggest I disconnect my existing Tiller sheet and replace it with a new Tiller sheet?

@ScottC I don’t think this is specifically related to Direct Fills. You could confirm/double check by reviewing a Sidebar Fills sheet to see if the data is filling in there, but not in the Direct Fills sheet.

The feeds between balances and transactions are separate so the fact that you’re seeing updated balances does not mean the transactions feed is necessarily working.

If there is any sort of outage listed for the institution, that’s likely the culprit.

Please write to the support team via the chat on the Tiller Console at https://my.tiller.com for help with this issue. They’ll guide you on the specific steps to take to make sure it’s not really a user action required error and then can escalate the issue to Yodlee.

If you find that transactions are filling into the Sidebar Fills sheet, but not the Direct Fills sheet (and all the same accounts are linked to both sheets) let me know.

Thank Heather. Will do.
