I made a minor correction on the Transaction Tracker to the Total for Category/Group label in E8 and G8. The header wasnā€™t changing with the Category/Group dropdown, and the sum wasnā€™t taking the column drift into account when looking for the Amount column.

If you want to simply copy/paste formulas, you can replace them with the following. Otherwise, you can replace your entire Transaction Tracker sheet with the template.
E8

="Total for "&G3

G8

=IF(G3="Category",sum(F10:F),IF(G3="Group",sum(G10:G),""))

Iā€™m new to Tiller and really want it to be great. So far Iā€™m finding out that itā€™s just as much a lesson in spreadsheets as financial tracking. Thatā€™s not so great. Someone makes a template and constantly tweaks and updates it and the only way to find it is by spending time digging through stuff when I should be working on my finances. Isnā€™t there a ā€œlatest and greatestā€ page where everyone ā€˜s cool templates are found?

I used Tiller for a year before I ever tried any of the outlier templates. You donā€™t need them to get a good and working view your finances.

Iā€™d say the Lab Add On is where you will find the most helpful sheets in the Lab Add on and all of those come with instructions and explanation.

The creative ad hoc latest and greatest are like icing sprinkles that help but arenā€™t really key to good financial management.

I wish Category Detail was still supported. I tried Transaction Tracker and it is close to category detail but it seems to be duplicating several transactions. Any suggestions?

is this available if using excel instead of google sheets? This is exactly what Iā€™m looking forā€¦it was in the old MS Money!
