"What if" budgeting

Hi all,
So I am looking for a way to do some “what if” budgeting. Without messing with my current budget I would like to do some analysis of what would happen if I changed jobs and my salary increased or decreased. I don’t want to go through the entire process of recreating a full budget, but I want to be able to forecast core expenses to help make a decision on would salary X be enough for us to live on or do we need salary Y. I did some searching in the tools and can’t find something like that and was wondering if anyone has some ideas on how best to do this.

Thanks,
Andy

Two templates come to mind:

Another approach is to use Budget Plan solely for modeling future budget scenarios—without linking it to your Categories sheet. I’ve found it useful for what-if budgeting by toggling the enable/disable dropdowns to explore different scenarios.

@andy I also love to play “what if.” What I personally do is go to the Tiller console and “create spreadsheet” and just link a new spreadsheet (or copy the one I have) and mess it all up since it isn’t my one I actually use. For me, this is one of the big advantages of using Tiller.

@TillerAlice

I wound up doing this. Seemed cleaner that playing with my actual budget sheet. I got a lot going on there. LOL

This worked great. I was able to copy over our expenses data from our actual budget, didn’t connect to any accounts and just started playing with various income and expense scenarios.

Thank you for the suggest!

One of my favorite things!!! The power to play when you own your own data!
