My big win is starting to use Tiller and finally knowing where our money is going! My husband was laid off for 11 months, and we went from being comfortable and not caring too much where our money went, to really needing to cut back generally and be conscious of how we spend. I know feel like we can plan and aren’t in the dark. And now that he has a job again, we can use our finances wisely!
For me, after years and years of manually entering every credit card transaction into a tracking spreadsheet I built years ago and refined/tweaked over the years, my win has been all of the regained time having those transactions automatically pulled and inserted in to our Tiller sheet(s) and not having to spend hours on a weekend typing everything in or importing a CSV and making sure everything ended up in the right place.
I’ve progressed my financial management plan from various experimental investing devices such as bonds through worthy, art through masterworks, REITs, BTC & ETH, and E*Trade, to consolidating them back into a high yield money market account and re-diversifying with a loss percentage under 1%. Not bad for someone who reads the important truths and looks for inspiring commentary. My advice; don’t get locked into and rely solely any groups. Always always always accept a loss and get back up knowing that you can make changes to your own thoughts and opinions. And continue saving. Retirement age is less than 7 years now.
Thank you for the opportunity to win the 11 books.
My mooney win is setting up accounts with Tiller. The debt snowball tool and finding this community is a big win in my life.
My win was using Tiller to get a better handle of my food expenses (groceries, eating out, buying at the work cafeteria, etc.)
The “Hello, Money” daily email has been a fantastic way to keep tabs on spending. It’s also convinced me to add all of my asset and debt information to Tiller so I can see my net worth at a glance.
Switched from Mint to Tiller in December of 2023. With Tiller and Tiller Community, my spouse and I have reduced our average monthly spending a little over $1,000 a month, or about 13% and have reduced our debt load by 73%. It’s obvious that they only way that we accomplished this was with the tools and support of the community. Go Tiller!
I graduated from graduate school last summer and left with a lot of credit card debt. I’ve been overwhelmed by the total number and interest rates for over a year then I cam across Tiller through a friend. By charting exact amounts on each card, interest rates, and my monthly budget, I’ve been able to map out a game plan to pay down the debt and stick to it. I’ve been using the plan since March and I’ll be debt free next summer!
My win: I had enough in savings to comfortably survive being furloughed for 7 weeks. Yay emergency funds!
My other win was switching to Tiller and being able to automate most of my budget related tasks. Wish I would have switched from Mint years ago.

My Recent Tiller Win: Detecting charges on my wife’s card before she knew it was stolen. She thought she had just misplaced her wallet, but it was gone and someone was hitting up Dave & Busters.
Long-Term Tiller Win: Confidence that we are on the right track for a continued secure financial future.
As a college student taking finance classes Tiller has really opened the door to automating my budget tracking allowing me room to focus more on school. Ive hit the mark every month using Tiller and have not gone over in the 6 months of using it. I stays in a shared folder with my partner and I so that we are both able to access our planning and make educated decisions day to day.
my big win is migrating all my mint data to tiller and using it to better track finances with my (new) husband!
Our big win is that Tiller helped us get on track with a true budget and reduce our overall monthly spending. Last year, our property taxes sky rocketed and, due to an escrow shortage, our monthly mortgage jumped $300. Thankfully, due to being on a budget, we’re able to easily make up the difference without feeling like we’re falling short every month.
My money win: Had such a clear picture of my finances after using Tiller and other tools that getting financing for my new business was MUCH easier then when I got my mortgage a few years ago. Finally feel like I have a clear picture of what my money looks like!
My big win is creating my first spreadsheet ever in preparation for tax time. I am completely up to date this year and now review my transactions a couple times a week. I’m just about to use the spreadsheet I finished for 2023 to finally send my information to my tax account for filing. It’s such a relief to know tax time will be much easier next year.
I’m a former Mint user, and after lots of comparison of alternate tools, I selected Tiller last year and have been happy with that choice. The main money win is the time it saves me each month when reviewing, categorizing, and adding notes to my transactions. This is an important activity to me, so I prioritize time for it, but with a robust AutoCat tool and the easy-to-navigate spreadsheet format, I’m able to go through all my information much more efficiently in Tiller than I could do previously in Mint. Thanks Tiller! Keep the good stuff coming!
My big win was arranging my finances so that I could take a sabbatical to pause, regroup, look around, kindle new interests and rekindle old ones, and spend time with my kids before they leave home.
My big win has been increasing my contributions to my retirement accounts from 10% of my income to 30% of my income. It is fun using Tiller to watch the balances grow!
My Big Win: TIME!
I have tried several tools over the years and there were always situations that i could never solve for categorizing transactions and gaining a full overview of my financial picture(ie, household spending, personal spending, investments, etc). After realizing what I was looking for didnt exist, I emarked on creating my own application in Excel. While it was mildly successful, there were often limitations on what I could truly achieve with automating and simplifying my workflow. Enter Tiller. They got it right. The fact that it operates in excel and sheets allows me to leverage my excel/sheets expertise with their fantastic structure. I have saved so much time and now have a reliable and simple process to quickly analyze my ENTIRE financial picture in minutes.
