Discover to Capital One Migration

My Discover credit card has recently been migrated to Capital One. I turned off Discover feed and turned on Capital one feed. Now I have duplicate transactions for 3 months. Is there a better way to handle duplicates other than manually reviewing and deleting?

I truly appreciate the insights of the Tiller community.

If you search the community for Duplicate Transactions, there are some tools to help. It probably depends if you a Sheets or Excel user and if you have upgrade to Direct Fills. I have never used any of these tools, so I don’t want to point you at a specific solution.

One way I would try - make a copy of your current sheet in case you need to revert. On the Transactions tab, sort the sheet by the Date Added column. This should bring all the new Capital One duplicates together and then you can do a mass delete of just those transactions. Then just resort the Transactions tab by Date descending.

I use Excel. I made a copy just for backup. The earliest Capital One transaction date that I had was April 30, so I filtered by date from there through July, filtered by institution, and sorted by amount so I could easily see the duplicate amounts. But I had to delete each row individually; I couldn’t do a mass delete.

Thank you both. I used Google Sheets. I filtered for the two accounts and then manually deleted each row. The overlapping month needed a closer review. Otherwise I just deleted the Capital One rows for older months since I had already categorized the Discover ones.
