Sorry I’m late on this.

Our biggest thing is keeping an emergency fund that can cover us for 4-6 weeks (we’d love to do 3 months if that was feasible for us but at the moment it just isn’t) that would cover all major critical expenses if something happened like we both lost our jobs at the same time. If we really cut out everything and survived entirely off our pantry and freezer, we could probably make it another 2-3 weeks.

It’s not much, but it’s a start.
