Tiller MCP for Gemini Spark

Is it possible to get Tiller’s MCP Server URL to add it as a custom app in Gemini Spark?

@RachelB have you tried putting our MCP URL in there? I haven’t tested this but it might work https://ai-tools.tillermoney.com/mcp

If you get it to work, please update this post with more details on how to add via Gemini Spark and what it allows you to do. Would love to understand your workflow better here!

I was able to connect Claude to this Mcp server. It just looks at the Google spreadsheets so no different behavior then connecting Claude to sheets. Unless I am missing something.

Thank you, Heather! I was having trouble finding the URL! I was able to successfully create a Custo App in Gemini Spark.

Adding Tiller’s MCP to Gemini is pretty straightforward. Go to https://gemini.google.com/spark/apps and scroll down to add a custom app.

Well done @RachelB - curious, what Spark did you build?

I haven’t played with it much yet so right now I just have a weekly summary.

Send weekly spending update

When to run:
Weekly on Fri around 8:00 AM

What to do:
Objective: Provide me with a comprehensive weekly update of my household and personal spending from my connected Tiller financial spreadsheet for the past 7 days, delivered in Gemini chat and via email.

Functional Steps:

Query my primary Tiller financial spreadsheet (“Tiller Spreadsheet”, ID: XXXX) for all transactions recorded over the trailing 7 days.
Filter for expense transactions (excluding transfers, credit card payments, and income), ensuring categories hidden from reports are excluded.
Group and aggregate expenses by category and category group (such as Groceries, Dining, Utilities, Kids & Activities, Shopping, etc.) to calculate total weekly spending and spending per category.
Identify top largest transactions and any unusual or notable charges from the past week.
Identify any uncategorized transactions requiring my review.
Email the formatted weekly spending summary to @gmail.com with an informative subject line including the date range.
Deliverable: Deliver a concise, structured spending summary directly to me in Gemini chat and via email following @gemini-spark-instructions, organized into:

Total Spending & High-Level Summary
Category Breakdown (spending by category group and major categories)
Notable & Top Transactions
Transactions Needing Review or Categorization

This looks like a great starting point for many users, @RachelB. Just ran it on my sheet and prompted me to clean up a number of transactions.

This is super cool. I currently use ChatGPT scheduled tasks to send a daily household spending brief, but I use Gems for a few other recurring tasks. Maybe I’ll move my brief over to Gemini.
