As of the last week Tiller Money Feeds → Launch gets an error message and says to try again later. Forget it, days go by and it’s still like that. I’ve done the whole rain dance: Clear cache and restart browser, try another browser, nothing works EXCEPT using Google Chrome in Incognito Mode. This is a complete nuisance as I have to sign in and validate every single time. Is anyone else experiencing this? It seriously degrades the functionality of this app… Windows 11
How frustrating! I’m sorry you’re experiencing this. I’ve only gotten that error message sporadically, and it’s always launched the second time I try–never for days at a time.
Rebecca
Are you using Windows 11? When I was on Windows 10 it was fine, I just switched last week.
Yes, I’ve been using Windows 11, version 25H2, for a couple of months.
Have you tried signing out/in of your Google account?
All the above and have you tried using chrome/in incognito? Ie i use forefox and sometimes there are certain functions that temporarily break either because of cache or changes of the day, and goes back to being ok after a bit
@wtribley have you tried disabling all the browser extensions and any software that blocks ads or other cookies or that is some sort of privacy shield?
There are known issues where the add-on can’t load if certain extensions are installed and running (DuckDuckGo and Malwarebytes come to mind).
Nothing except MalwareBytes. Disabling that is a non-starter. It still doesn’t work.
Incognito mode works with MalwareBytes on.
I created a shortcut and put it on my taskbar:
%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe -incognito google-docs-tiller-sheet-url
See create-google-chrome-incognito-mode-shortcut-windows on TenForums-dot-com
I guess we still don’t know the root issue here (we don’t even know the specific error message), even though you have a work around.
I’m using Google Sheets Tiller Money Feeds without issues via Google Chrome normal mode on Windows 11. No need for me to reauthenticate, even through reboot.
Hi @wtribley, if you haven’t already tried these, here are some options you might consider trying:
Note: (from a Google search related to Malwarebytes)
- Whitelist URLs or the Add-in in Malwarebytes: Malwarebytes might be blocking the connection the add-in needs to function.
-
Add to Allow List: You can add specific URLs, applications, or files to the Malwarebytes Allow List. If the add-in communicates with specific web addresses (e.g.,
docs.google.com,aapgate.ablebits.com,cdn.apps4gs.com,cdna.apps4gs.com), adding these to the Allow List can resolve the issue. If the add-in is a standalone application, adding its executable to the Allow List might also work. -
Browser Guard False Positives: Malwarebytes Browser Guard has, in the past, flagged legitimate Google extensions (like “Office Editing for Docs, Sheets & Slides”) as false positives. If you’re using Browser Guard, you might need to adjust its settings to allow the Google Sheets add-in or the domains it interacts with.
Note: (my own suggestions for general troubleshooting)
