Vanguard, Ascensus, and Disappearing Balances

My wife owns her own tax prep company and so she has individual 401k and Roth 401k. I’m not sure if this is the cause, but today suddenly her balances were zero. I went to Vanguard and it seems like they’re there, so I’m guessing this isn’t the reason. But my wife did say Vanguard has sold those off to some other company: Ascensus. I think tomorrow she’ll be able to log in to the new site. Could that be the reason the balances went away? Is that a company that Tiller should be able to sync with?

That company does appear on the list of institutions that Tiller supports, so fingers-crossed that you can connect without any problem.

Check your Accounts sheet. The hidden columns to the right provide the balances to the Balance sheet. Often people (myself included) delete a row not realizing the hidden columns can get messed up.

That’s normally a good suggestion. I think this time it’s a little different though, it’s not $0 just in the sheets, the balance on the my.tillerhq.com site is also suddenly showing $0.

My Simple IRA through Vanguard was moved earlier this week to Ascensus and I’ve been unable to add the new Ascensus Account to Tiller. When you go to TillerHQ to add an Ascensus account, there are like 3 or 4 options and none of them seem to work. I wonder if they are still working on transitioning the new accounts to be accessed by Yodlee?

My wife set up her account today and I’m facing the same issue. None of the versions in Tiller work to add the account. I’ve been disapointed in Vanguard, they seem to have lost their way a bit and this is another bad choice (for customers). I think I’m going to try to convince my wife to move her money out into Schwab or Fidelity.

Yeah, I’m literally in the process of transferring to Schwab. But I can’t find my account number with Ascensus. So confusing. Agreed, disappointed in Vanguard.

I know, I’ve also found that I can’t see the account number. As I said, this is my wife’s account and I’m not sure she’ll be willing to go through the effort to transfer it, I might push for that. But just in case she doesn’t want to I submitted an issue here at Tiller to see if they can look into the sync issue. Hopefully we’ll get some good news.

I have the same issue. Tried the various Ascensus options (the logos don’t seem to match). Has anyone submitted this issue to Tiller and/or Yodlee yet?

I did just submit an issue this morning. They said to try incognito mode but that didn’t work. I haven’t heard back on next steps or if they’re looking into it further. But I imagine they are, the ticket is still open.

Thanks. So many of my accounts don’t work with Yodlee. I sure hope I get approved for the new connector Beta test.
