So, it seems like banks that integrate with Plaid are available to work with Tiller? I keep seeing Plaid mentioned, but I tried with Marcus, which integrates with Plaid, and I didn’t get anywhere. I know it is on the “Institution Alert" list but is that list specific to Yodlee?
Update: I didn’t understand how to get access to the Plaid integration/aggregator. I do now, although I think I won’t bother right now because this account only updates monthly and I can do it manually. I gave up trying to connect this account with the default method because it failed 100% of the time.
@kingsdotter - Plaid isn’t broadly available to everyone right now so I updated the topic title to be more specific to the problem you’re having re: Marcus.
The institution alerts sheet is Yodlee only, but if you’re also having issues connecting via Plaid, it’s likely an issue with the institution not working well for any of them rather than it being specific to an aggregator or Tiller.
I don’t seem to have the option to choose an aggregator, so I assume it’s just trying to use Yodlee and fails.
We have 4 Marcus accounts under two different account owners linked to our Tiller. It has worked well in the past but doesn’t seem to be connecting today.
@kingsdotter I’m a little confusted on your Plaid usage posts. Did you setup access to the Plaid aggregator to test it with Marcus? Your first post states you “tried with Marcus”… Your second post states you “don’t seem to have the option”…
In case you didn’t know, here is the background on using Plaid:
To use the Plaid aggregator, you need to request access and then follow special steps to setup the access to a template. Since Plaid is in beta test mode, you don’t want to set it up against your main template until you have tested it out.
If you did request access and tried it out then you can ignore my post. If not, and you want to beta test the Plaid / Marcus connectivity then reach out to Heather.
You can usually tell what the aggregator is somewhere on the login screen, in this case just above/below the Submit button.
Also notice the message regarding migrating to Betterment, in case that applies to you.
I think you’ve answered my question. I haven’t requested access. I didn’t know how to get access to the Plaid aggregator, which was my main question (however poorly phrased). I’m ok not getting Marcus data pulled. It is just a CD account and only changes monthly. I can update it manually. Thanks!
