I have three accounts at one institution and two at another. I use Plaid for all. What determines and how do I control which accounts get refreshed? When my accounts are refreshed automatically OR I refresh manually (refresh all on the console), I get a mixed bag - some days all of the accounts refresh. Some days only some do, some days other accounts do. (Accounts 1 and 3 at Institution 1 will refresh but 2 will not or 1 will at Institution 2 and the other will not. Or some other variation - it’s very random but happens nearly every day.)
When I click on the 1 account that ‘needs refreshing’, I am, of course, taken to the console where, because I already ‘refreshed all’, I can do nothing.
Is there anything I can do to get them all to refresh? And/or how do I get that last one to refresh or do I just have to wait for Plaid?
I only have 1 credit card account linked to Plaid, and it is a low activity card.
I think the refresh is linked to actual activity in the account. I also see that sometimes the console refresh date and the Balance History most recent date are not in sync. I haven’t been able to figure out the pattern. But I continue to use Plaid for this account, because somehow it doesn’t require 2FA like Yodlee does.
I wish I know more about the refreshing too. I actually don’t like how plaid doesn’t allow manual refreshes, though from my understanding the refreshes are more often with plaid and that is why. I think there are quirks with any aggregator and that is maybe just one of them. The bigger question I think would be if you are not getting your data in a timely manner, and if that is the case, then maybe contacting support directly would be an option to try to get to the bottom of your specific case.
Plaid makes requests to financial institutions at regular intervals in order to retrieve fresh transactions data. Updates may happen daily or as frequently as every few hours, but this frequency varies by institution.
BUT the console gives us a log so I can track when Plaid is polling and some about what data it is getting. I can see, for instance, right now that at 2:45 am today 2 balances for 5 accounts. 3 of my accounts were actually updated and not the one that had the most activity. Hopefully it will be updated soon ish.
