| Does it make sense to start a new spreadsheet for the new year? | There is no requirement to start in a new sheet. You can keep your budget history and add new budgets for 2026. | Can you review the past issues with AGGREGATORS and the FINANCIAL (BANK) institutions? I have frequently experienced issues getting some of my bank details to sync consistently. Sometimes this is a short delay, sometimes the delay can last several days. | Some issues are specific to your connection and these are best looked at by support so that we can review your specific connection or error logs. | Can you control which of the accounts my spouse, for example, can see? Not to share all but a selection. | They will have access to the setup you have done. There are some limitations to what features they have. Read more here. |
| Is one aggregator better to use? Yodlee or Plaid? | It just depends on what’s supported with respect to institution and account type. You can learn some of the differences between Yodlee and Plaid in this guide on data updates. |
| How to add Apple card transactions | The connection to Apple Card is not supported by our data provider. We have steps for manual import you can follow. |
| I added my Vanguard account to have access to retirement account balances, but it pulled the detailed transactions into my budget sheet. Is there away to have a separate sheet for retirement accounts or to have tiller to only pull the balances? | When an account is linked to a sheet one cannot currently choose either to pull in transactions or balance data feeds only, both will be included. Hello, Money might be a better tool if you’re looking to just keep an eye on balances because you can then select to only see transactions or only balances. |
| How can I test an different aggregator? I have an unreliable Yodlee connection with my Northwestern Mutual account. I’d like to test the connection with Plaid but I don’t see how to do it. | Please write in to support using the blue chat widget in the lower right corner of your Console at https://my.tiller.com or write to support@tiller.com and we can further troubleshoot your specific connection. |
| I added 12 month columns for 2026 in categories sheet but each cell does not replicate an entry to succeeding cells How do fix it ? I’m a novice Google Sheets user but love Tiller! | Here are steps for resetting cascading budget figures. |
| Regarding the .csv import..what if your institution uses debit and credit columns? | We have a guide on the CSV Importer which provides guidance on the expected formatting as well as details on some of the features such as the credit/debit toggle. |
| I want to import my 2025 transactions from Quicken, then use Tiller for all new transactions. What would be the process for that? | Here is a guide for Importing Quicken Data to Tiller |
| Once the connection has been made, how do I get those transactions into my spreadsheet? | Once your account is connected to Tiller, you then need to link the account to your sheet and then fill your sheet. Learn more here. |
| If I want to track my investment account balances but don’t want all of the individual transactions from those accounts, how would I handle that? | Hello, Money is a good tool as it allows for customization between seeing only transactions or only balances. |
| Is there a resource that goes over best practices in regards to categories. For example, should what is a good category name for credit card payments? | We recommend that you customize your categories by typing over the default categories. If you want some inspiration for how to structure and think about categories, you can check out this Community post. |
| Can you use both plaid and yodlee | We don’t typically switch aggregators until we’ve deemed your default one unable to connect to an institution. There are limitations to consider with respect to institution and account support. We are happy to troubleshoot and advise please write in to the support team for more help. |
| Would the Apple Card be a “liability “ manual account | Yes. the Apple credit card would be a liability manual account |
| Where do I find links to previous webinars? | You can search the Tiller Community for posts with Webinar replay in the subject or with the webinar tag. |
| IRS requires statement in an audit. Best practices in accounting is to download copy each month and real pain in the butt to logon on to every bank to download. None of them want to email them and don’t offer that as a service so would be outstanding if Tiller could do this for us. Is it on the roadmap to add a feature to automatically download them for us? | This is not something we offer and it’s not currently on our roadmap. You can post this as a feature request where it can be voted up and that feedback can be used to prioritize product development tasks in the future. |
| Can you go over how to log in? Concerned that if the account owner becomes ill, divorce, death, etc. How would Tiller be ransferred to a new owner? | If you need more help you can write in to billing@tiller.com , but you will need access to the Tiller associated account as a primary or secondary user otherwise we cannot change the email address for the account. |
